BAN

 Neighborhood Projects

The Beacon Alliance of Neighbors has the goal of improving the quality of life on  Beacon Hill, making it a place where people can live safely in a caring, active community.

A member of the City of Seattle's Greater Duwamish Neighborhood District Council, BAN sponsors community building events. It provides a forum for neighbors to participate with city, county, and state officials and agencies.

Founded in 1998, BAN usually meets the third Tuesday each month, though some months neighbors gather for work parties, potlucks, or other community building events.

Meetings are held according to a process recommended by the city's Dept. of Neighborhoods, where all residents have access to the agenda. Over 300 neighbors have attended.

The city's map roughly corresponds to project areas, extending south along west Beacon Hill.

Northwest Beacon Hill is part of the 37th state legislative district, and is represented by Sharon Tomikos Santos and Eric Pettigrew in the Washington State House of Representatives, and Adam Kline in the State Senate. Larry Gossett (District 2 - east of 12th Ave. S. blue border on map)  and Dow Constantine (District 8 - west of 12 Ave. blue border)  on the King County Council.
