The Seattle Open Housing Campaign, 1959-1968

The fatal shooting of Robert Reese on June 20, 1965, by a Seattle police officer made national news. This clipping, sent to Mayor Braman from a resident of Seymour, Indiana, was accompanied by a letter stating that "those in authority must back up their police officials and face whatever political slings and arrows the NAACP may through [sic]."
