Strength & Stamina: Women in the Fire Department

letter
The ordinance guaranteeing light duty for pregnant City employees in non-traditional jobs was passed with a sunset clause which did not allow the ordinance to become final until it was established that no unanticipated costs or problems arose and that the policy worked smoothly. After three years, in 1990, the sunset clause on the ordinance was removed.
