Overview
The Green Building Sustainable Communities program provides support to city planning projects to articulate a vision for a sustainable future and ensure more sustainable outcomes. This work entails:
- Developing resources for staff and citizens to understand sustainability and craft a common vision and goals for implementation
- Facilitating cross-department coordination and identify holistic solutions to existing problems, balance social, economic and environmental goals
- Communicating best practices in sustainability to identify new approaches to problems
- Researching indicators to access long term success
This website provides resources for envisioning a sustainable community as well as design tools & strategies, resources, and related links developed by the City of Seattle and other groups working to achieve sustainable communities.
