Capitol Hill Light Rail Immediate Station Area Planning
Overview

What Goes Up When the Red Wall Comes Down?

Over the past several years, Capitol Hill community members have worked with Sound Transit and City of Seattle staff to develop a shared community vision for the Sound Transit-owned properties near the future Capitol Hill light rail station. What will be built when the red wall surrounding most of the site comes down? How can the new development become the civic heart of Broadway? How should that development support the public spaces? What should it look like? What type of services should be located there?

The Urban Design Framework and supporting Technical Appendix address those questions.
