What: DPD is hosting a public meeting to discuss our vision for Seattle's future. Former Mayor Norm Rice will keynote the kickoff event. Our Comprehensive Plan, the document that guides Seattle's growth and development, is ready for an update. This is our chance to craft the guidelines that will make our city an even better place to live, work, and play.
DPD's comprehensive plan provides the background and structure for human services, transportation, utilities, economic structure, and neighborhood development. As DPD updates this plan to reflect growth targets (mandated by the state), we want to take this opportunity to get your comments, suggestions, and feedback about Seattle's growth. What do you like? What would you prefer to change? How do you envision Seattle as a City in 2030? Your input will help DPD's long-range planners to create a plan that gives us a bright future for our city.
The "Seattle 2030 & Beyond" Challenge: In 150 words or less, describe your Seattle 2030 or Seattle 2050. Send your comments to DPD_CompPlan2030Vision@seattle.gov.
