Doing Business in Seattle

Seattle is a great place for business. Our highly skilled and educated workforce makes our city a thriving area for information technology and biotechnology companies, traditional manufacturers, small businesses, and other major industries.

Seattle also excels in its remarkable natural beauty, vibrant cultural scene, and superb outdoor recreational opportunities. There is no better place to live, work, and play.

The Office of Economic Development's (OED) Business Development Team strives to ensure business-friendly City policies that encourage the growth of a diverse and thriving local economy. The Business Development Team supports initiatives that create and retain jobs for city residents and aggressively pursues new opportunities to promote business growth, enhance the city's tax base, and foster economic diversity in Seattle. Partnering with local business and industry leaders, we identify investment and growth opportunities in Seattle and advocate for City policies and infrastructure investments that support business development.
