The Ave
The results will be better transit service; increased pedestrian safety and
mobility; new water, sewer, drainage, and electrical infrastructure; façade
improvements and more attractive storefronts; new trees, light poles, benches,
kiosks, and a bronze gateway.
South Lake Union
The South Lake Union neighborhood is growing its reputation as a home for
world-class companies and workers, cutting edge research and many Seattle
residents.
Southeast Seattle Action Agenda
The Rainier Valley is undergoing a long-awaited revitalization. The Seattle
Housing Authority’s NewHolly and Rainier Vista
projects will add thousands of new, affordable homes. The City is spending
millions of dollars to foster jobs, education, art, open space and opportunity.
Center City
Mayor Nickels' "Center City Seattle" strategy focuses on encouraging economic growth, transportation, new housing, and great urban neighborhoods in Seattle 's downtown core and the nine centrally located neighborhoods immediately around it.
Economic Opportunity Task Force
In 2002, Mayor Greg Nickels convened an Economic Opportunity Task Force of business, labor, community and education representatives to create a “to do” list that would identify ways city government can better help to support and enhance the city’s job base.
