Climbing Water!!

In 2001, the Jackson Place P-Patch was lost to a parking lot. With the efforts of the Jackson Place Community and HomeSight a portion of land behind the Davis Place Condominiums was held to build a new garden to replace the one that was lost. This garden will be larger then the original one lost in 2001. The community began a design and construction process in 2005 and began work in 2006. Located on a steep slope, the garden beds are terraced over looking Rainer.

The garden also picked the name, in case you are wondering why climbing water? It comes from the fact that adjacent to the garden is the Cedar River water pipeline that supplies water to citizens of Seattle from the Cedar River, and it runs uphill! Hence the name: Climbing Water. The community continues to work on the larger open space around the garden planting natives and creating a walking park for all neighbors to use.
