The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs 2008 budget allocation is $8 million. The agency receives funding from four primary sources:
General Fund ($3,256,017)
Provides support for the department's general operations, including funding programs. The general fund does not provide direct support to the public art program.
Admissions Tax ($1,270,274)
Twenty percent of non-sports-related admissions tax revenues supports our efforts to improve services to artists, communities and the next generation.
Municipal Arts Fund/Public Art ($3,383,774)
One percent of city capital improvement project funds is set aside for the commission, purchase and installation of public artworks. The 2008 public art budget includes $750,000 of retroactive budget authority carried over from previous years.
Cumulative Reserve Subfund ($170,000)
Provides for maintenance of the City's art collection
