What is the Cascadia Mayors Council? The Cascadia Mayors Council is a regional coalition of Mayors from British Columbia, Washington and Oregon, who work cooperatively on issues which confront our cities. As Mayors, we fully understand that if we are to successfully tackle the challenges that face our cities, we need to work together as a region and form a regional response to these challenges. We seek to share a message of regional leadership, a strong regional vision and structure for the future of Cascadia. By working together, we have a unique opportunity to build on the productive efforts of many organizations which currently perform work in our areas of interest -- transportation, public safety, growth and environmental management and tourism -- as well as directly influence the legislative process, most notably through lobbying efforts to our respective governing bodies. This forum provides Mayors and cities a unique opportunity to share ideas, find proactive, realistic solutions to regional problems, and form better ways for our cities, city departments, and staff to work together.
