Review commercial development/redevelopment capacity analysis to determine where opportunities exist to increase employment capacity. Assess suitability of capacity to accommodate the types of shopping and services desired but not currently available.
Product of Step A: B. Alternatives Development
Prepare alternative economic growth strategies outlining options for accommodating expected growth. The range of alternatives should account for amount, type, location, and intensity of growth.
Communicate the impact of alternatives in terms of the location, amount and bulk of new buildings. Coordinate with transportation committee work to identify impacts to circulation system.
Work with Planning Committee to integrate economic development alternative into the community-wide alternatives.
Product of Step B: C. Alternatives Evaluation
Analyze relative performance of alternatives in achieving the Employment, Shopping and Services Objectives.
Meet with Capitol Hill business organizations and major institutions to gain direct input on alternatives.
Prepare evaluation report summarizing findings and identifying preferred elements of the alternatives.

Combine preferred element to form a preferred alternative. Work with Planning Committee, Chamber and BIA to synthesize concept plan.

Develop an economic growth strategy containing a list of time-phased economic development actions to achieve Employment, Shopping and Services objectives.

Work with the Broadway BIA to support their planning efforts and activities.
Work with the 15th Avenue Merchants Association to support their planning efforts and activities.
Connect with Olive Way and 12th Avenue businesses and work with them to implement merchants' planning goals.
