Affordable Housing – a city priority

Seattle Children’s Hospital’s proposed Major Institution Master Plan
On August 11, 2009, the Seattle Hearing Examiner published and mailed a recommendation that the City Council deny the request by Seattle Children’s Hospital for Council approval of a new Major Institution Master Plan (MIMP). The review of a proposed MIMP is subject to the city’s quasi-judicial rules which means the Council will act as judges in its review, rather than legislators. The first meeting that will begin the review process is scheduled for November 18, 2009.
1960 Rapid Transit Plan
In 1960, the Seattle Transit System published a report exploring public transportation options as part of the Central Business District Comprehensive Plan process. The document looked at how high-speed rail might fit in with Interstate 5, then still in the planning phase.
