Initiative #16 Status - Bonding Of Stadiums

Initiative 16 by Citizens for More Important Things is now circulating for signatures. A rally at the Edgewater Inn was attended by over 500 supporters. The initiative will require voter approval of county bond issues in excess of $50,000,000 for constructing or remodeling buildings. This will force the county to obtain voter approval for the new Mariner's and Seahawk's stadiums.

Lobbying Needed Now - Email Addresses Listed Below

County Council is expected to vote this Monday on authorizing over $300 million in public bonds for building the proposed Mariner stadium. Although Initiative 16 has 60 days to obtain the 60,000 signatures needed, we would like to present thousands of signatures at Monday's council meeting in an effort to dissuade the County Council from authorizing those bonds.

You can help in two ways: 1) Call or email the county council members listed below ask them to vote no on authorizing the issuance of the stadium bonds.
