| Council will pay tribute to Officer Timothy Brenton today
Council will begin this afternoon’s Full Council by honoring slain officer
SEATTLE – This morning at 9:30 a.m. the Seattle City Council will receive a briefing from Interim Chief of Police John Diaz on the death of Police Officer Timothy Brenton and the wounding of Officer Brit Sweeney.
At 2 p.m. this afternoon in Council Chambers, the Seattle City Council will begin its meeting by paying tribute to Officer Timothy Brenton who was shot and killed on Friday night while on duty. Council President Richard Conlin is expected to start the tribute, followed by Councilmember Tim Burgess who will reflect on Office Brenton’s career. The tribute will conclude with a moment of silence.
All city flags have been lowered and will remain that way until after the funeral.
