Department of Corrections Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)
The State's Department of Corrections (DOC) is offering a Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) group for Mentally Ill Offenders in the Court Resource Center. MRT is a systematic, step-by-step treatment strategy designed to enhance self-image, promote growth of a positive, productive identity and facilitate development of higher stages of moral reasoning, life purpose, and other positive personality characteristics. A MRT workbook is provided to each participant, who will be required to complete Steps 1 12 during group sessions. The steps cover topics such as disloyalty, opposition, uncertainty, defense mechanisms and many others.
MRT meets every Monday from 3:00pm to 4:30pm in the Resource Center Conference Room located on the 2nd Floor of the Seattle Justice Center , Room 235. It typically takes six months to a year to complete the program.
