Marriage Ceremony Information

Municipal Court of Seattle Judges are empowered to perform marriage ceremonies under the laws of the State of Washington. Marriage ceremonies are performed in the Judicial Chambers at 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday in the Seattle Justice Center .

Marriages performed on the weekend cannot take place at the Seattle Justice Center, so you will need to select another location. While we cannot offer suggestions and/or help you select a location you may want to take a Virtual Tour of Seattle to give you ideas.

If you would like to request a marriage ceremony please complete and submit the following Marriage Ceremony Request form.

Bring the following required items to your ceremony:

1. Marriage License
• The license has a three day waiting period before it is valid for use. For more information on how to obtain a King County Marriage License or call (206) 296-3933.
2. Fees
• $60 cash for ceremonies here at the Seattle Justice Center.
• $225 minimum for weekend ceremonies performed within King County. This fee increases with distance and time commitment involved.
