Greenwood Town Center Rezone
December 2011 Status: Preparing Additional Environmental Analysis
An environmental impact determination is a required step for rezone proposals; and the City conducted an analysis in the first quarter of 2011.
Following DPD’s issuance of an environmental determination in late April 2011, a property owner filed an appeal with the City's Hearing Examiner of the adequacy of that determination. A hearing was held on Sept. 7 and 8, 2011, and the Hearing Examiner provided findings on Oct. 14, 2011.
The Hearing Examiner indicated that DPD needs to provide additional information on the impacts, and reissue a determination.
To view the Hearing Examiner’s findings and decision, enter “w-11-003” in the “Hearing Examiner File No.” line on the City Clerk's webpage.
The schedule for reissuing the environmental determination is January 2012, after which a three-week public appeal period will run. Following this period, DPD will provide its recommendations on the rezone to the City Council. The Council’s process involves review and discussion by its land use committee, with an eventual vote and possible forwarding of the rezone to the full Council for final decision.
DPD’s recommendations as of December 2011 remains the same as summarized in the Rezone Recommendations page.
