Mitigating Noise in Commercial Projects
The development of commercial projects is screened during plan or permit review for potential permanent mechanical and other recurrent noise issues associated with facility use and maintenance. Mitigation measures for major noise generators are required for such projects.
Mitigation Measures
In all zones, mitigation measures for major noise generators are required to ensure that the project meets Noise Ordinance requirements.

Acoustical Reports Required for Major Noise Generators
An acoustical consulting report from an Acoustical Engineering firm may be required when the installation of a major noise generator or the expansion of an existing major noise generator is proposed.

You may determine whether an Acoustical Consultant Report will be required for your project by first creating a basic acoustical report. For additional information on preparing an Acoustical Report, please refer to CAM 415, pages 2, 3 and 7.
