Trade Permit Overview

Trade Permits:

Most of these permits can be obtained and processed at the Over-the-Counter Desk at DPD's Applicant Services Center (location & hours). Find more information on our Over-the-Counter Permits website or call (206) 684-8464.

Street Use Permits
Permits for street use elements may also be required by the Seattle Department of Transportation Department (SDOT). For details visit the street use permit website or call (206) 684-5253. DPD staff will try to alert you to SDOT requirements, but you should be prepared to research these yourself by contacting SDOT.

Emergency Repair Permits
Emergency repairs to the systems covered by DPD trade permits, due to landslides, earthquakes or other disasters that cause structural damage, typically receive priority handling in the permit process. For more specific information and application instructions, see emergency permit requests.

Fees
Fees are collected at the time of application and are based on application type and varying factors. Fees are subject to update on a yearly basis. For the most complete and up-to-date fee listing, see the DPD Fee Subtitle.
