Permitting Process Overview
Types of Plan Review and Permit Intake

Not all projects need the same amount of review. Smaller, simpler projects require less scrutiny, while larger, more complex projects must go through our entire plan review process.

  1. Plan Reviewed Projects - Projects with the potential to impact the environment, that have significant structural requirements, or that have other complexities fall into this category.
  2. Subject-to-Field-Inspection (STFI) Projects - Smaller construction projects may qualify for this option.
  3. Over-the-Counter Permits - Permits for some building systems can be obtained over-the-counter.
  4. Drop-Off Permits - Two types of permits for simpler projects do not require a submittal appointment.
