Who We Are

Staff

Guillermo Romano
Manager
206 233-7808
guillermo.romano@seattle.gov

Guillermo Romano was born and raised in Mexico City. Like a pavement flower, he grew up between sidewalk cracks of the streets of Mexico. An architect and urban designer since 1987, he has an improvised spirit, open mind, and a brainstorming nature. His experience spans the private and public sector in the fields of design, construction, project management, public relations and teaching. He joined the City of Seattle in 2004.

Lyle Bicknell
Urban Designer and Strategic Advisor
206 684-0763
lyle.bicknell@seattle.gov

Lyle Bicknell is a senior urban designer with the City of Seattle’s Department of Planning and Development. His specific areas of expertise include street and open space design, and creating successful, walkable communities. Before joining the City of Seattle Lyle worked in the private sector as an architect and urban designer. He received his architecture degree from the University of Washington College of Architecture and Urban Planning.

Joan James
Administrative Specialist
206 386-0098
joan.james@seattle.gov

Joan's motto: if you can't beat them, join them.

Liz Martini
Graphic Designer
206 684-5933
liz.martini@seattle.gov

Liz grew up in the radiant, Eastern Washington desert. At the University of Washington, she enjoyed making prints and having perpetually inky hands until she received her BFA in Printmaking (1984). Over the past decade her inner printmaker has been reborn into the digital age as a graphic designer. The tools have changed; the process remains. But Liz misses having inky hands.

Robert Scully
Urban Designer
206 233-3854
robert.scully@seattle.gov

Robert Scully was born and raised on the island of Oahu and has lived in Seattle since 1981. Prior to joining CityDesign, he worked in neighborhood planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering and naval architecture. When not managing urban design projects for DPD, he is designing and building furniture and studying Chinese language, culture and martial arts.

Geoff Wentlandt
Urban Designer
206 684-3586
geoffrey.wentlandt@seattle.gov

Geoff Wentlandt avatar citydesign

Geoff enjoys clear, simple urban design solutions and a quality public realm. He works at the intersection of urban design and land use planning in Seattle. He studied at UW and Brown, and has worked in Seattle, Bremerton, WA, and Providence, RI.
