On May 22, 2003 the Department of Design, Construction and
Land Use issued two environmental decisions related to actions
to amend Land Use Code requirements in the Northgate Overlay
District and to approve a development agreement between the
City of Seattle and Simon Properties, owners of the Northgate
Mall.
Both actions were determined to be not significant and appropriate
Declaration's of Non-significance (DNS - no Environmental
Impact Statement (EIS) required) were filed with the City's
SEPA Public Information Center.
Notice was provided in the City's official newspaper, the
Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce, and the Department's
Land Use Information Bulletin
(May 22, 2003). The SEPA determinations are appealable to
the City's Hearing Examiner until Thursday June 12, 2003.
The Seattle
City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed
amendments and development agreement on June 10, 2003 at 6:00
p.m. at Nathan Hale High School, 10750-30th Avenue NE.
