Create a Thriving Business District: Litter Cans

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) provides litter can services for many Seattle business districts. Litter cans provide pedestrians using these areas with facilities to thoughtfully dispose of their waste, but are not for the sole use of individual businesses.

Blue recycling cans are often paired with these cans to provide users with environmentally viable disposal choices.

To report damaged or overflowing litter or recycling cans, call (206) 615-1700. SPU provides businesses with a self service can option.

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU), also provides and maintains a limited number of litter receptacles at bus stops, and has an Adopt-A-Street program that businesses and residents may join.

Bus shelter trash cans are provided and cleaned weekly by Metro. For bus stops that DO NOT have a bus shelters, Metro also has an Adopt-A-Stop Program, which offers several benefits and acknowledgement for your business in exchange for cleaning efforts.
