Rainier Valley Community Development Fund (RVCDF)
The Rainier Valley Community Development Fund is a self-sustaining, community controlled financial institution that preserves and strengthens cultural diversity, long-term livability, and economic opportunity for Rainier Valley residents, businesses and institutions. The Office of Economic Development, in partnership with Sound Transit and the Rainier Valley community, helped to establish the RVCDF and provides ongoing support of its activities. RVCDF has three lines of business:

Supplemental Mitigation - to support businesses along Martin Luther King Jr. Way that are impacted by construction of light rail in the Rainier Valley;
Pre-Apprenticeship - to provide training and job placement for Rainier Valley residents in construction-related jobs; and
Community Development - to promote economic development and transit oriented development in the Rainier Valley through business and real estate loans.
