Disasters know no boundaries, so emergency management is always an exercise in teamwork. We use these sites to help the City prepare for and handle disasters, you will find them useful, too.

National Weather Service Seattle
Provides great forecasts and all the special weather advisories. Essential for any weather related emergencies.

USGS Landslide Forecast Tool
The United States Geological Survey has created a tool to show the general likelihood of landslides in the Seattle area based on the ratio of rainfall between the amount of rain in the past three days versus the past 15 days. While it can't predict slides, it can explain when we are entering dangerous periods.

Pacific Northwest Seismic Network
The PNSN is a network of sensors that measure strong ground motion in the Pacific Northwest. The information is feed into a center housed at the University of Washington. The network has all the best information about earthquakes happening in our region. Especially interesting is the archive of ShakeMaps that show how hard the ground shook throughout the region in many past earthquakes.

Regional Public Information Network (RPIN)
This site collects important bulletins from regional governments and organizations. It offers a digest of information about emergency situations and is a good place to start looking for information that will help you plan your day.
