Built Environment
Seattle’s buildings, streets, water and electric infrastructure make up the Built Environment. The City’s Green Building Team (part of the Department of Planning and Development), leads efforts to encourage innovation and increase environmentally friendly features in the built environment to save water and energy, create healthier offices and homes, slow stormwater runoff and last longer over time. As one of the largest single owners of LEED facilities in the world, the City is leading by example.
