Seattle Climate Action NowSeattle is taking action to prevent one of the biggest threats to the future of our city and the planet - global warming. Through Seattle Climate Action Now, we are committed to leading by example and helping everyone in the city take steps today to reduce climate-changing pollution in their homes, at work and on the road. Get involved in Seattle Climate Action Now by visiting www.seattleCAN.org.

Conservation
  • Keep the Emerald City Green! The Urban Forest Management Plan is the City of Seattle’s first ever comprehensive plan for the future of Seattle's urban forest. The vision is to create a thriving and sustainable mix of tree species and ages that creates a contiguous and healthy ecosystem that is valued and cared for by the City and all of its citizens as an essential environmental, economic, and community asset. The 30-year plan provides a range of actions in both the near and far term.
Get Involved
  • The Seattle Climate Partnership is a voluntary pact among Seattle-area employers to take action to reduce their own greenhouse gas emissions and to work together to help meet the community-wide goal of the Kyoto Treaty. Learn how your business can participate.

  • The US Conference of Mayors invites cities from across the country to take additional actions to significantly reduce global warming pollution by taking part in the US Mayors Climate Protection Agreement.

  • Check out the Green Seattle Guide to learn about more ways you can take action to create a healthy urban environment.
