For Candidates in the top 25% of the Register: Conditional Offers of employment for the February 2012 Recruit Class have been made to selected candidates.  If you did not receive a Conditional Offer call, you remain eligible for consideration for any future classes that may be hired from this current hiring register.

Please note that the Department does not provide individual feedback for each candidate due to reasons of process equity.

It has not been determined when the next Recruit Class will be scheduled.  We will contact you regarding any updates that apply to this current hiring register.

Q: Will the Seattle Fire Department offer an EMT class this year?

A:  The Seattle Fire Department will not be sponsoring an EMT class this year.  We are therefore encouraging candidates to seek EMT training on their own.  The following Seattle area schools offer EMT Classes:

North Seattle Community College   206/527-3790

Q:  How can I turn in my DD-214 for Veteran's preference points?

A:  Candidates who participated in Oral Board #2 may submit their DD214 via email to Colleen.Lafferty@seattle.gov or via fax to (206) 733-9150.  (Be sure it is a long-form which shows the nature of your discharge)

Q:  How many positions are typically filled?

A:  Approximately 24 positions are typically filled by the Fire Department off of one register.  This will vary according to the Fire Department’s needs, which are continuously assessed throughout the year.
