Once a fire starts aboard a boat it is highly likely to spread to neighboring boats within the marina. Wooden and fiberglass boats filled with sails, furniture and diesel provide ample fuels for a fire to grow and spread with incredible speed. Prevention and preparedness are crucial to lessening the impact of fire on our marinas. The Seattle Fire Department developed a guide to assist marina management prepare and prevent fires from starting. The Marina Fire Safety Guide provides fire safety information necessary to develop marina emergency response plans and fire prevention guidelines for staff. |
