Rainier Valley - Station 28
About the Station Fire Station 28, located at 5968 Rainier Avenue South, houses one engine company, a ladder truck, and a medic unit. Built in 1951, the current Fire Station 28 requires significant work to meet current earthquake safety standards and program requirements. In addition, a new building will be constructed behind the station to house the vehicles and equipment for the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Team. Design is expected to be completed by the end of 2007. In 2008, construction will begin. Station Improvements The architectural firm Schreiber Starling & Lane is designing the upgrade.
