8 Interlaken Park - Volunteer Work Party

Meet at 19th Avenue East and East Galer Street's Metro bus stop building.
This is a rain or shine event, if it snows, don't show! Dress in warm rain gear and good work boots. Bring gloves. Tools are provided, refreshments and snacks are available!

15 Seattle Parks Foundation Monthly walk: Jefferson Park and Cheasty Boulevard
Saturday, 10:00-12:00.

Jefferson Park is one of Seattle's largest Olmsted-designed parks and the site of future construction projects that could significantly impact the character of the park and the surrounding neighborhood. The tour will emphasize new construction projects currently being completed in the park, the future lidding of the reservoir, and how these projects relate to the original Olmsted design. The tour will also include nearby Cheasty Boulevard and the new EarthCorps project to restore the native woodlands along the boulevard. The tour will be led by Frederica Merril and Myra Latosek of Friends of Jefferson Park, along with representatives from the Seattle Parks Foundation, Friends of Seattle's Olmsted Parks, Seattle Parks and Recreation and EarthCorps.

for a 2 hour walk through the park.
15 Seward Park Ivy-O.U.T. - an EarthCorps volunteer work project
Saturday, 9am - noon

English Ivy is invading Seward Park and we need your help! Volunteer to remove English Ivy and leave a lasting legacy in this Olmsted-designed park. Regular work parties meet every third Saturday of the month from 9am - noon. We can also schedule work parties for interested groups.

Meet at the Nature Center near the park entrance at 9am.

20 Lecture: "Boston to Seattle: First and Last of the Olmsted Arboreta", Phyllis Andersen - 9:30-11:00 AM, Seattle Asian Art Museum Auditorium
Phyllis Andersen, Director of the Institute for Cultural Landscape Studies at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University will present a lecture on the first and the last arboreta designed by the Olmsted firm: the Arnold Arboretum at Harvard University and Washington Park Arboretum, here in Seattle.

Join Seatte Parks and Recreation and the Seattle Parks Foundation for the dedication of newly-installed planting beds at the 14th Avenue entrance to Volunteer Park and the recognition of the supporters and Parks staff involved in the project.
27 Kick-Off Meeting for Cheasty Boulevard Greenspace Restoration

EarthCorp has scheduled a kick-off meeting for community members interested in the Greenspace Restoration Project at the Jefferson Community
