Human ServicesThe Human Services Department funds and operates programs and services that meet the basic needs of the most vulnerable people in our community — families and individuals with low incomes, children, domestic violence and sexual assault victims, homeless people, seniors, and persons with disabilities. This report is a result of a survey of homeless people in Seattle taken on the evening of April 13, 2009. Community volunteers walked along city sidewalks, through parks and parking areas, and under bridges to survey people who would spend that night unsheltered. 2008 Biennial Report - Toward Safety and Justice: Domestic Violence in Seattle. this report aimes to raise public awareness of all aspects of domestic violence - what it is, who and how many people it affects, and how the coummunity responds to domestic violence.
