For Domestic Violence Survivors and their Family, Friends and Co-workersAs part of our effort to support the safety and well-being of adults and children who are victims of domestic violence, the Seattle Human Services Department supports a number of programs in collaboration with our community partners. Victims of domestic violence and their children are among the most vulnerable in our community. The City of Seattle started funding assistance to survivors of domestic violence in 1978. Our current programs emphasize victim services and shelter. More than 1,500 women and children are helped by these programs each year.
