Reduced-Fare Bus Tickets
The Metro Ticketbook Program was established in 1993 to provide subsidized bus tickets for low-income and homeless people who need transportation assistance to services, jobs and child care. In 2011, the City of Seattle will receive $937,500 from King County Metro Transit. The City, in turn, distributes the ticket funds to nonprofit, community-based organizations after conducting a competitive application process. Organizations purchase tickets at a reduced rate (20 percent of actual cost) and then distribute the tickets to clients.
