Food Programs and Services

The City of Seattle funds or administers meal programs that benefit children, homeless youth and adults, and low-income individuals and families.

We help licensed child care providers plan and provide nutritious meals for the children in their care through the Child Care Nutrition program, and each summer more than 100 sites in Seattle and King County make sure children have access to free breakfasts, lunches and snacks from June through August. In addition, the City helps fund food banks that are located throughout Seattle, meals that are distributed to the elderly, and emergency meals served at a variety of sites.
