Wireless Network Security Guidelines
Wireless networks are becoming ubiquitous with the costs for wireless equipment dropping and becoming easy to install. At least 40% of home users have wireless installed, and many of those are completely unsecured.
Having an unsecured wireless network in your home opens you to anyone, including that young hacker next door, having complete, unfettered access to your computer and your Internet connection. This means they can see everything on your network, and/or they can use your Internet connection to launch attacks or send Spam!
Oh, and by the way - if you've been getting your Internet access from your neighbor's wireless setup, you should know that is illegal and there have recently been prosecutions.
