The Office of Intergovernmental Relations (OIR) was created in 1979 as a separate office in the Executive Department; prior to that time, it was a division of the Office of Policy Planning. In 1992 the former Office of International Affairs became part of OIR. The office is responsible for managing the City's external relations with local, regional, state, federal, and international governments (including Seattle's 20 Sister City relationships), and other related organizations and groups.
Reports, studies, policies, issues notebooks, and correspondence relating to various aspects of regional governmental planning. Includes material on population and regional growth, transportation, governmental reorganization, and federal assistance to local government.
