Solar Project - Orca Elementary School

Green Power Program | Business Sign-up | Residential Sign-up | Solar Demonstration Projects

Project Summary
Solar arrays were added at the Orca Garden in early 2003 as a way to enhance the environmental learning opportunities available at this K-5 alternative school. Families and community members developed the beds, planter boxes, composters, and sheds located at the Garden. A specially calibrated utility meter makes it easier for students to record and be actively involved in monitoring the solar project's performance.

The Orca Garden now "grows" electricity.
