Program History and Process Summary Light, Power & Pride, established in 1984, became a tradition at Seattle City Light. The yearly awards strengthened the partnership between management and employees and the bonds between Seattle City Light and the customers we serve.
During the last few years the program has languished. No nominations were sought and no award ceremony was scheduled.
The Communications and Public Affairs division has worked to revive the program. In 2007 Light, Power & Pride will live again!
The guiding principles for the "new and improved" annual recognition are Seattle City Light's vision, mission and values:-
To set the standard and deliver the best customer service experience of any utility in the nation.
-
To be dedicated to exceeding our customers' expectations in producing and delivering environmentally responsible, safe, low cost and reliable power.
- To aspire to excellence, accountability, trust and stewardship.
The awards ceremony honoring the winners is planned for October 2007 during Public Power Week.
