Climate Wise is a City of Seattle voluntary partnership program that encourages cooperation between public, private and non-governmental sectors to make energy efficiency and environmental performance a business asset.
From 1994 - 2000, Climate Wise was administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and implemented by local jurisdictions. Seattle City Light, with support from the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI), began offering Climate Wise in the Seattle area in 1997.
In April 2001, the City of Seattle assumed lead support for Climate Wise in the Seattle area. Climate Wise is staffed by the Commercial & Industrial Section of Seattle City Light's Energy Management Services Division - visit Energy Smart Services.
