Did you know?
Seattle's long tradition of clean, renewable energy began in 1905 with the Cedar Falls hydroelectric plant. Later, City Light developed the Skagit and Boundary hydroelectric facilities. The Skagit facilities were recently recognized to meet strict "low-impact hydro" certification requirements. In 2002 City Light contracted for one of the largest wind power purchases in the country, 175 megawatts from the Stateline project in eastern Washington and Oregon.
Customer participation in green power programs adds to this legacy by acquiring additional supplies and accelerating the market for new renewable energy. Join the thousands of customers who already support Green Power - clean energy for a new century with no greenhouse gas emissions!
