Powerful NeighborhoodsThank You!
Seattle City Light's Powerful Neighborhoods program has now met our goal of serving 20,000 single family homes with efficient lighting and showerheads. The program has now shifted to serving residents of multi-family buildings with high–quality products to save money and energy. If you own or manage a multi–unit residential building, and would like to set up an appointment to provide efficient CFL lighting and efficient showerheads and faucet aerators for your tenants, send an e–mail to SCL_install@seattle.gov.  Over the last two years, our installers have placed more than 360,000 efficient CFL light bulbs in customer homes and delivered more than 8000 efficient showerheads and aerators. These measures will save our customers 14,000,000 kilowatt hours per year which is enough to power 1,444 Seattle homes and will save these customers a combined total of nearly $1.2 million per year. No more single family appointments are being taken at this time. But for a limited time we will still have installers in the field finishing up. You are encouraged to purchase the discounted CFL bulbs that are available through Seattle City Light's Twist & Save program http://seattle.gov/twistandsave/. By installing efficient lighting now, you can begin saving electricity right away.
