94th Clean & Green Seattle - South Delridge / White Center
South Delridge / White Center - On Saturday, January 10, 2009, Mayor Greg Nickels led more than thirty (30) volunteers and City workers as they removed weeds, invasive plants and painted out graffiti. Volunteers also picked up litter. More than 2,200 pounds of green debris was removed!
Community participants included: Kathy Kaminski (Weed and Seed Coordinator, Seattle Neighborhood Group); Karen Green; Drug Free Communities; Aileen Balahadia (Director, White Center Community Development Association and Neighborhood Planning Advisory Committee member from Beacon Hill) and David Daw (Economic Development Coordinator of White Center Community Development Association).
Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle Parks and Recreation, the Department of Corrections and Seattle Public Utilities also assisted in the effort. Anthony Harris took digital photographs.
