Seattle Climate Action Now

Dear Friends,

Here in Seattle, there is growing recognition that global warming isn't a far away threat for future generations to worry about. It is a real challenge for us right now. Although challenging, climate change also represents an unprecedented opportunity to create a stronger and healthier community for our families today while we ensure a more prosperous tomorrow for our children and grandchildren.

For most of us, the pressing question is, "What can I do to stop global warming? How can I get started?" Thanks to a campaign I launched today--Seattle Climate Action Now--the answer is getting easier. Seattle Climate Action Now offers practical tools and resources that help us take concrete steps become part of the solution to climate change. I encourage you to be an active part of Seattle Climate Action Now! Visit www.SeattleCAN.org to get started.

Whether you are turning down your thermostat, going car-free one day a week, or adding insulation to your attic, you will be participating in a broad, community-wide effort to address climate change. Together, we can tackle a serious challenge like climate change, build a stronger community today, and leave behind a greener tomorrow for our children. Seattle CAN make a difference!

Sincerely,

GREG NICKELS
Mayor of Seattle
