"Moving Dirt!"

Mayor Nickels celebrated demolition by Sound Transit to prepare for light rail by proclaiming Moving Dirt Day in Seattle. (see attached .pdf file.) The demolition cleans and clears the site for the future Sound Transit operations and maintenance base.

Mayor’s statement:

"As Mayor, I've made sure that City government cleared the way for light rail. With the start of demolition, we've got a good message for the people of Seattle: We're moving dirt. We're getting the job done."
