Upcoming Family Events at Magnuson Park

Mark your calendars with two upcoming family events of note at Magnuson Park:

  • Come celebrate the Year of the Dog and CHINESE NEW YEAR with Magnuson Community Center, at Hangar 30 Workshop in Magnuson Park, on Friday, Jan. 27 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Cost is $10 per immediate family/$5 per person. Enjoy the Mak Fai Kung Fu Club Chinese Lion Dancers plus traditional Chinese crafts, fun games and prizes, storytelling, and of course, jasmine tea and special New Year's treats. Call Magnuson Community Center to register at 206-684-7026.
  • It's an ENTERTAINMENT EXTRAVAGANZA FOR KIDS on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Magnuson Community Center, in Magnuson Park. Five bucks for five hours! Featured artists, performing on stage in the auditorium and gym, include Mario Lorenz (variety show), Roberto the Magnificent (comedy juggling and crazy stunts), Scott Petersen (The Reptile Man), Professor Bamboozle (world class illusionary road show with live animals and levitating kids!) and Kid Stars featuring J. Woods (rapper) and Shumba Youth Marimba Ensemble. Tickets are available at the door or purchase in advance at Magnuson Community Center. Group rates available but must call in advance. All ages are welcome. A barbecue lunch will be available from noon to 1:30 p.m. for $2. The gym will also be open for play. For more information, please call 206-684-7026.
