Adult Softball League

Seattle Parks and Recreation Adult Program Coordinator Antoinette Daniel will begin contacting 2011 softball team representatives to invite them to the 2012 League Organizational Meetings, scheduled for the weeks of February 6 – 23, 2012.

This year the TOTAL team fee will be due on or before the meeting a team attends. You can make payments by cash, check, or credit card. Teams that miss this deadline will be placed on to the league waiting list. At these meetings, we will present and discuss league costs, rules, scheduling, communication and other pertinent information.

Attendees will have an opportunity to offer suggestions for league improvements. Tentative league dates are May – July, depending on the league. New teams are welcome to attend, but are not guaranteed a spot.

What's New For 2012?

  • The TOTAL team fee will be due on or before the meeting a team attends. This allows Parks to begin working on schedules immediately, confirm the participation of each team, and eliminate a past problem with unpaid fees. It also means team captains will only need to pay once. This practice is consistent with what other leagues are doing in and around Seattle.
  • There will be a 9.5% sales tax applied on team fees, a requirement of the state.
  • There will be a $25 charge for team name changes after March 31, 2012.
  • Sorry, no special game requests are allowed. We will do our best to ensure a solid schedule with equal home/away and early/late games. After the schedule is drawn, unless there is an error, we will not be able to accommodate special requests due to vacations, weddings, etc., as this requires re-drawing and re-sending the schedule and frustration for everyone. If you can’t make the game, it will be a forfeit.
  • Parks will email or text team captains to notify them of rain-outs and/or other time- sensitive issues.
