Concept Plan
Conceptual Plan for new park

December 2006
The Pro Parks Levy originally targeted a City Light substation site on NW 65th St for acquisition. However, the site was small, and mid-block on a busy arterial. The community supported changing the priority site for this acquisition project to property at 17th Avenue NW and 62nd Avenue NW.

In October 2005, the Pro Parks Levy Oversight Committee voted to recommend this change in scope for the project, contingent on approval by the Ballard District Council. In November 2005, the Ballard District Council also approved targeting the property at 17th and 62nd as the priority site for this project.

The targeted property is adjacent to a site acquired through the Levy's Opportunity Fund.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Pro Parks Levy included the purchase of the Ballard Park Acquisition as a Neighborhood Parks Acquisition project. A City Light Substation on NW 65th St was originally targeted for purchase through this project. However, in 2005 the community and the Pro Parks Levy Oversight Committee recommended acquisition of a property at 17th and 62nd as the priority site for this project instead of the substation.
