Thank you Seattle this project is complete! The 24,640 square-foot property is an urban oasis with a wonderful panoramic view. The park is the realization of six years of a combined effort on the part of Seattle Parks and Recreation and the Friends of Fremont Peak Park. Funding sources included the Pro Parks Levey Opportunity Fund, King County Conservation Futurues Fund, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Matching Fund, among many other generous donations of both time and money.
The park was designed by landscape architect Marieke Lacasse from GGLO and the art elements were created by Laura Haddad.

| PROJECT DESCRIPTION |
The property for this new park was acquired through the first cycle of the Pro Parks Levy Opportunity Fund, community contributions, Neighborhood Matching Fund, King County Conservation Futures Tax, and other funding sources. See Fremont Peak Park acquisition project.
The community obtained a Neighborhood Matching Grant to plan for the development of the new park and to create the schematic design.
The property faces west and has panoramic views of the Olympic Mountains, Elliott Bay and the Ship Canal.
COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION
In September 2005, the Seattle City Council unanimously approved projects to be funded through the second cycle of the Pro Parks Levy Opportunity Fund, including $250,000 for park development at Fremont Peak Park. This project will start in 2006.
In January 2006, Parks Superintendent Ken Bounds announced that the official name for this new park is Fremont Peak Park.
